Technology Showcase - Signature Technology in Flight Simulation Equipment

Every vehicle has a frequency "signature" that gives it a distinctive feel, which is one of the reasons a sports car performs and feels very differently from a luxury sedan.  This also applies to aircraft.

Pilots learn to fly using the motion and performance signatures they sense from their particular aircraft.  The ability to sense motion and performance cues is critical for fighter pilots who make split second decisions and respond rapidly based on their perception of what the aircraft is doing.  Therefore, it is highly desirable that any ground based training device or simulator replicate these cues for a realistic training experience.
