The GTEP is the latest in the specialized training process for pilot candidates. ETC’s GTEP is made up of a suite of gymnastics equipment designed to improve balance and movement coordination of multi roll aircraft pilots.  The equipment combines with a rigorous physical fitness curriculum to prepare a pilot for advanced maneuvers in flight and formation flight.  The GTEP is used for training in:

  • Movement coordination
  • Vestibular desensitization
  • Task loading
  • Concentration

The suite consists of three kinds of special aviation gymnastic equipment: the Wheel, the Gyro and the Loop. Each of these machines can then be used with medical monitoring devices to monitor trainees’ metabolic rates in real time or recorded for further evaluation.

The GTEP can be used for individuals or for groups to promote the skills necessary for formation flying. Synchronized exercises contribute the individual and collective concentration and coordination of trainees for a more successful formation training program. Examples of synchronized exercises are:

  • Forward circles in pairs or a group of 3 or 4
  • Backward circles in pairs or a group of 3 or 4
  • Synchronized circles to the right and left in pairs or a group of 3 or 4
  • Synchronized circles forward and backward in pairs or a group of 3 or 4
