GAT-II FAQs
5nav

Q: Can a GAT-II® be configured for a particular aircraft?
A: Yes. The GAT-II® can be configured to resemble any single or multi-engine fixed wing aircraft, including turboprop aircraft. Further, our GAT™ Helo, can be configured to replicate a reciprocating or turbine helicopter. Aircraft specific cockpits are available as an option for every GAT-II®.

Q: Will an aircraft specific GAT-II® fly like the aircraft?
A: Basically, Yes. While it's very difficult to replicate aircraft dynamics with a trainer that is mounted on the floor, the flight experience and motion are extremely realistic. ETC utilizes manufacturers flight data, POHs, and "in-type" experienced pilots to fine tune the motion base and flight characteristics.

Q: Does ETC offer finance plans?
A: Yes, ETC works with a local bank to provide customers with lease plans that are very affordable.

Q: Is the GAT-II® portable?
A: Yes, the GAT-II® can be readied for transport to another location in less than an hour. Set-up time at the new location is also less than an hour.

Q: What are the power requirements for the GAT-II®
A: The GAT-II® (including the motion base and all computers) operates off of a single 110 vac, 15 amp outlet. For our European units, the GAT-II® operates on 220 vac.

Q: Does the student need a keyboard or mouse to adjust the cockpit controls, like the radios and VORs?
A: No, all knobs and controls in the GAT-II® are located in the same positions and function just like in the real aircraft.

Q: Do I need Sectionals and AFDs to conduct a cross country flight in the GAT-II®?
A: Good piloting normally requires the pilot to have this information with him when flying, however, the GAT-II® instructor station provides all frequencies for ADFs, VORs and ILSs.

Q: Where can I test fly a GAT-II®?
A: The GAT-II® is available throughout America. Please call ETC for the location nearest you, and to schedule an appointment. Of course, GAT-II® test flights are available at ETC Corporate Headquarters in Southampton during normal business hours. Also, GAT-II® will be available at major airshows throughout the year, check our website for shows and dates.

Q: Are GAT-II®s available for other FTD levels?
A: Yes, GAT-II®s currently are FTD Level 2, and options are available to upgrade them to Levels 3, 4 and 5.
