ETC’s Aircrew Training Systems (ATS) Expands Website to Incorporate New Technology and Product Development Concept Pages

Southampton, PA, August 20, 2010 — Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (OTC-Bulletin Board-ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company) Aircrew Training Systems (ATS) today announced the addition of concept pages on the ATS website introducing state-of-the-art concepts for the Falcon Altitude Chamber and the Zero/Zero Ejection Seat Simulator:

New concepts include the addition of cockpit instrumentation into the Falcon Altitude Chamber in the form of individualized training stations with a collapsible stow-away hood projection system that displays various real world flight profiles, cockpit specific instrumentation, throttle and control stick and more. By incorporating the oxygen training system into the flight simulation experience pilots are better able to understand hypoxia and further predict their own reaction to it when it happens in real flight. Other Falcon upgrades highlighted in the website’s concept pages include: integrated operating stations, falcon skins, and various possibilities for hood projection, projection surface, O2 delivery arm, and visual displays.

Concepts for the Zero/Zero Ejection Seat Simulator include the open dome technology which provides 180° wide field of view for pilots to immerse them in the flight training experience as they make the decision to eject and ultimately eject from an aircraft. Recording devices are positioned in and around all equipment for subsequent evaluation and critique in the newly conceptualized debriefing station.

The intent of the concept pages is to promote dialogue for creative and product development. Viewers and clients are encouraged to conceptualize with us as the aeromedical field continues to evolve.

Joe Dougherty, Industrial Designer for the ATS Group, leads this initiative whose goal is to integrate pilot activity with training curriculum. Joe stated, “Everything is created from experience. Each person’s individual experience brings something different to the table. This ideology is celebrated at ETC as new ideas and opinions are debated. Simply put, all products, interactions, and innovations come from the experiences that are gathered and interpreted to develop pioneering solutions. Utilizing ETC’s 40+ years of experience, expertise and knowledge, I have been given the challenge, and the opportunity, to reinterpret their products. As a young designer I am excited to have the opportunity to explore new possibilities of tactical flight and aeromedical training. Ultimately, these concepts are the result of open minded collaborations between employees of different experiences and backgrounds with the purpose of sharing these experiences and discoveries with others around the world.”
